My new publisher 'Profile Books' who have taken over Tindal Street Press recently sent me a royalties statement from my book 'You Don't Have to Say'. I earned the fantastic sum of £3.42. Apparently that's 12 books sold... The money won't be sent until it accumulates to £10. I'll look forward to that.

My PLR for 2012 was £16.49. 'You Don't Have to Say' was taken out 246 times, and 'Going the Distance' the book I edited (for which i get 20% of the PLR rate of 6pence) was taken out 103 times. Going down from last year but still pleased YDHTS is being taken out. No one borrowed 'Taking Dorenn out of The Sky' though, perhaps because there aren;t many copies left. It was published in 1997 (with a 1999 edition from Picador) and has been out of print for at least ten years.

I read these books this year: http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/698826-alan?format=html&shelf=read-in-2012
And these are my top ten:
I read less books in 2012, 48 rather than my usual 50 plus. Maybe that's because I finished off the Kjaerstad trilogy, two books each with over 600 pages (...
